2004

Mike and Debi Smith, Lawrence Mecklenburg, Tim O'Neill, Chuck Kuhn and Scott Lucke spent their Saturday afternoon grooming trails in the SK park in preparation for the 3rd Annual HotFoot 5K. All went well until Mike sacraficed himself to learn the location of a hazardous bees nest along the trail. Trail grooming in that area was stopped and Mike tended to over a half a dozen stings.

Darren Pratt, Mike & Debi Smith, and Dan Cryder prepare to hit the trails at the 2003 SK Park work party. Scott Lucke not shown.

In preparation for the 2003 HotFoot 5K to be held on Saturday, June 28th, a work party was conducted on Saturday, June 21 between 10:30 and 2:00 P.M. Two fallen trees were cut away and some holes filled as well as general trail grooming done to clear the path for the annual 5K. As an added bonus, the park officials asked our man power to help clear out the old storage box that was falling apart and targeted for removal.

2002

In preparation for the first annual HotFoot 5K and Kids dash, a work party was held for trail grooming of the course. On June 22nd, 2002 from 1:00 to 4:00 pm volunteers gathered to rake trails and cut away any debris that may interfere with the 5K course.
It was a lot of work but the group managed to open up a large section of trail.

Aaron Archer followed up with his troop (#1526) of Boy Scouts and spent three days re-cutting and leveling an abandoned section of trail. Very impressive work.
